These skills include using a manually-pointed dish antenna, finding the satellite using a satellite ID meter, accurate pointing using the beam-balance method, pre-setting polarization, and aligning polarization under the direction of a Satellite Access Center.
The HOST-B is required only for Basic and Advanced Satcom Professional certifications. All other SatProf-managed certifications can be done fully online.
To take a HOST-B, you must
find a qualified Examiner, contact them directly, and make arrangements with them for location, time, and fee. Note that the Examiner's fee is
not included in the Training Membership.
Please note that SatProf does not coordinate HOST sessions and does not collect any fee from students for the HOST exam. All arrangements must be made by the student directly with the Examiner.
During the HOST-B session, the examiner will assess your skills for a series of tasks and mark them on a HOST Score Sheet. After the session, the Examiner will send the Score Sheet to SatProf. You can
view a blank score sheet here.
